Listed below are career plans that were planned or considered but never happened. This section only pertains to plans that relate to Britney's music career (NOT products such as clothing lines or perfumes - a section on that information is coming soon).
Book (Possibly an Autobiography)
Britney had discussed writing a book with Rolling Stone writer Jenny Eliscu. It's unknown when this was or what the book would be about but it's speculated that it would be an autobiography.

- "I had interviewed her a handful of times since that first story, and we'd even talked about doing a book together a couple years ago." [December 11, 2008]
Author Bruce Littlefield was also at one time asked to co-author a book with Britney (it's unknown when or what the subject matter of the book was).
- Britney Spears "has been approached by author Bruce Littlefield to help write her life story in a bid to save her career. Bruce - who was asked a few years ago by Britney's then-manager Larry Rudolph if he would be interested in working on a book with her - believes she would be able to "find herself" if she wrote an in-depth account of her life." In spring 2007, it was also rumored that Britney was going to be paid $10 million USD to write an autobiography, but these rumors are unconfirmed. . A press release from the 'Southern Review of Books' newsletter also wrote about the book in June 2007, but most of their quotes were rehashed from Star Magazine (a tabloid). However, they stated that Britney had "three notepads full of ideas for the book" [June 2, 2007 /].
In March 2009, she also reportedly turned down $3 million to write an autobiography. She was offered the deal by publishers Random House, Harper Collins and Little Brown, but declined and also wanted at least $8 million to write it (this is not confirmed).

'OnTOURage'
This was a tour documentary that was planned to be shot during the spring of 2004 while Britney was on the "Onyx Hotel Tour." Britney was going to be the show's executive producer. The show, which was to be aired on MTV, most likely never happened due to the tour being canceled due to Britney's knee injury. It's speculated that some of the footage meant for the show that Britney shot herself was used for her reality show "Chaotic" the following year (which documented parts of her 2004 tour).

- "Is broadcast television ready for Britney Spears? Representatives for the pop princess are shopping a reality series featuring backstage footage of her life on tour, according to sources. Being pitched with the pun-style title "OnTourage," the series would follow the lives of Spears and her fellow dancers on the upcoming European leg of the Onyx Hotel Tour, her steamy concert series. "OnTourage" is being described as a cross between MTV's "The Real World" and 1991's "Madonna: Truth or Dare." Spears would narrate and even wield a digital camera to chronicle her adventures with her dancers, bodyguards and managers from the tour bus to the stage. The six-week shoot would produce six episodes that Spears' team would hope to have on the air as early as the summer, presumably providing a boon to the already healthy ticket revenue she is generating. No word on whether any particular network is close to a deal, but the front-running network will have to act fast: Spears' European tour kicks off in London on April 27. Another potential hitch: The budget is projected to run north of $1 million per episode, which is expensive by unscripted standards. Reps for Spears, who would serve as an executive producer, declined comment late Monday." [April 13, 2004 /]

- "Cher is set to join pop princess Britney Spears on stage this fall when the teen sensation hosts her own cable concert special. Spears invited the diva to guest on her HBO special, Britney Spears Live From the MGM Grand Las Vegas, which will be broadcast live on November 18th. Spears will perform songs from her third album due November 6th, as well as her hits. No word yet on what the duo will perform but Britney's debut . . . - "Cher and Britney won't be teaming up after all. Movie and music star Cher was originally supposed to perform with Britney on her Nov. 18 HBO special in Las Vegas, but now the aging diva says her schedule won't allow a duet with the pop princess, The New York Post reports. "I've told Britney how disappointed I am because I am really looking forward to performing with her," Cher told tabloid. "We have been talking about this for over a year." Cher's new CD, "Living Proof", is being released in Europe in November, which means the singer will have to be overseas to promote her music instead of being on stage with Britney. "Britney has been extremely sweet and understanding", said Cher, "and I know we will do something together soon!" [October 11, 2001 / ]
